New Beginning...

Today, new options and new opportunities are available to reproductively challenged couples. Medical and scientific knowledge has advanced rapidly in the last two decades and new and increasingly effective fertility treatments are available and success rates are rising.

At Aphrodite Medical Center we have helped to pioneer many of these advanced methods in assisted reproduction, especially in the clinical application of scientific research - bringing the benefits to people with fertility problems. At Aphrodite you can always count on us to give you the right advice. There are many issues to consider and we will guide you through the maze of information and help you make the right choice for you.

"A new beginning" is a guiding principle for us and the health and safety of mother and child is our paramount concern.

At Aphrodite we will impress you with our strong teamwork and an equally strong emphasis on affordability. We have our own fully-equipped in-house equipment for all treatments and diagnostic gynaecology.
We believe that good preparation for treatment can influence your chances of success and, for this reason, we focus on a variety of ways to assist all our patients in this important area.

New possibilities in Fertility Treatment

Our open and non-selective approach means that we treat a very broad range of patients including those who, for age or medical reasons, face a lower-that-average chance for success. We explain the probabilities, clearly and honestly.

Some people with low success potential choose to take treatment anyway and we fully support them. We do not allow our dedication to our patients to be deterred by the possibility such treatment to affect in a negative way our overall percentage results. What is more important is that you know exactly where you stand and have all the information you need to make your decision.

Once the treatment strategy has been decided, we then take special care to avoid early escalation of intensity and unnecessary costs, especially in relation to drug usage.

IVF is the mainstream treatment. Natural and recombinant gonadotropins differ enormously, yet, up to date, there are no conclusive statistics or general agreement within the medical profession to show that recombinants justify the significantly higher cost.

All bridge treatments are designed to be as affordable and as easy to understand as possible. There are no "hidden extras" or unpleasant surprises waiting for you and we are available at all times to discuss treatment strategy and the cost implications. What is more, you will find our drug and medication costs highly competitive, due to our independent purchasing policy.

New commitment to Safety

Safety is of paramount importance in fertility treatment and this has always been recognized by Aphrodite Medical Center. Events at other clinics in the past have emphasized the need for "fail-safe" systems. These are in place at Aphrodite and are subject to constant review and inspection.
Fertility treatment involves the skilled and careful handling of delicate genetic material. A range of treatments, including IVF, have been developed to meet the needs of people who, for a variety of reasons, cannot conceive naturally. These treatments are carried out by highly trained and skilled people who care deeply about their work and who place the highest priority on the welfare of the patients and the unborn child.

The procedures for management of the treatment process have evolved continuously during the twenty-five years since fertility treatment became a reality. At The Aphrodite Center, we have refined thee procedures to the point where a single person is able to make decisions or take action at any stage of the treatment process without having to recourse to inspection by qualified specialists. We maintain our control long before sperm and eggs are collected and embryos created and remain in the place throughout every stage. Every detail of every procedure is regularly reviewed and the patients themselves are involved in the final identity checking process. Each archived file is kept and completed cases are reviewed step-by-step.

Our certainty that Fertility Treatment at Aphrodite is at the highest possible level of safety, is based on the evidence, not speculation.

New approach to Individual Care

At Aphrodite, we are committed to the successful resolution of fertility problems - and individual treatment is the key to achieving this objective. Individual care is our first and foremost concern and we recognize that each case is different and that treatment must be planned in a very individual way for each patient. Most important of all, that health and well-being of parent and child is paramount. We cannot ignore the fact that, in a small part of the cases, fertility treatment can potentially cause side effects such as a higher incidence of hyper stimulation, multiple births and prematurity. Such risks are carefully assessed and managed at Aphrodite. Individual care begins at the first consultation and continues until each individual fertility problem has been resolved. In most cases, the result will be a successful live birth although this might require more than one course of treatment. For some, it may lead to the conclusion that fertility treatment is not the right answer and that a change of strategy is necessary. Each patient is equally important to Aphrodite - no one is “just another number” and no individual interest is neglected.
